Division of Cardiology

The Division of Cardiology provides the highest level of care for patients with cardiocirculatory diseases in Styria and neighboring regions. The Division’s cardiologists are highly trained specialists and its technical infrastructure meets the most modern international standards. The Division occupies newly renovated space in the east wing of the Department of Internal Medicine.

The main clinical focus of the Division is on treatment of patients with coronary heart disease and acute myocardial infarction, diagnosis and treatment of heart failure, myocarditis and cardiomyopathies, and congenital and acquired heart defects, as well as diagnosis and treatment of cardiac arrhythmias including interventional electrophysiology. Since 2007, the Division has, as the first cardiology service in Austria, offered percutaneous aortic valve replacement.
